The color is called "intensive red." It's really saturated, not too bright, but not darkish/brownish either. Somewhat wine red with traces of pink or light purple.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I mean I don't really see Chicanismo hurting the Latino cause, it's just a group of people (Mexicans) wanting to get back to the roots that their ancestors had before the Spanish Conquistador's came and started fucking their women. (LOL) They have little impact on the things for example happening in Arizona, or somewhere like that. Most Chicano Activists and Groups focus around mostly Mexican problems, (since Chicano is a word meant for Mexican-Americans,) just like there's Peruvian Activists and Groups, etc focus on their own. They all just come together under the Latino phrase since their problems are pretty much the same in the US. But besides that, I'd say the Chicanismo is pretty autonomous from others and hurting the Latino Causes around the US, and as far as I know, non-existant in the US since most of it happens down in Mexico anyway.

So you're right to think there's an in group and out group. It's mostly a cultural divide that creates these two groups.

I've got some friends that do that too, but one of my most closely associated friends is from Nicaragua, does it the most.
