'Human rights' do not apply when forcing unemployed people to work for under half the minimum wage, of course. They don't apply when cutting housing benefit to a level that will mean many people have to leave cities and towns because rent is too expensive. They don't apply when people are sacked for refusing to except new contracts that'll see them forced to work harder, for longer, for less. They don't apply when striking workers are intimidated and attacked. They don't apply when people on disability benefits are forced to demean themseleves to prove they are actually disabled. 'Human rights' are only ever abused by foreigners, unaware of our humane and fair society - in need of our enlightened guidance.

I in no way sympathise with the Chinese state, but I hope they laugh in Cameron's face should he try to talk about human rights.

You know, back in the 18th century, we had a name for this sort of thing Cameron is on about. It happened quite alot back then, and there was a trade route associated to it too. Hmmmmm.... trying to remember the name. Oh yes!
