In Call of Duty Black Ops you have to kill a Castro look alike. It wasn't to fun but I bet a Cuban traitor or teabagger will have a wet dream over this.

Not in World at War, though admittedly the depiction of the Soviets is pretty 'enemy at the Gates'ish.

^Not as bad as the first call of duty. World at War was the best in the series.

I love the Call of Duty games, but I'm always irritated by how unbearably reactionary it's political assumptions are. At least it's not as bad as Tom Clancy games.

Hey if it was just a look alike but I can't judge what it went down like since I probably won't get tat for a month or so. Do you really play as Castro, Kennedy and Nixon is Zombie mode?

One of the reasons I'm not buying such a propaganda infiltrated game.

I don't feel like shooting Russians, Cubans and Vietnamese people.

I wish you can switch sides some how.

Oh well, at Least Rockstar games never puts any Political Statements in their games.

Which is why I am sticking to Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption.

who even gets Call of Duty for the storyline? Online with friends is the only good thing about computer games.

I don't know, GTA 4 had some pretty anti capitalist undertones.

No, I wasn't being sarcastic

Rockstar games never puts extremely Reactionary garbage about Patriotism and Nationalism in there games.

You actually play as a Foreigner in GTA IV, and a Red army veteran.

In Red Dead Redemption, they mention Anarchist movements, and Socialist movements in Mexico.

Which is Why I am a fan of Rockstar games, because they don't brainwash there players into bullshit patriotism.

He wasn't a Red Army veteran (although Brucie seems to think so). He was involved with the wars in the Balkans.

He's also a drug runner, professional killer and all around lowlife.

Maybe you should look a little closer, but Rockstar games have a lot of political and social problems in their games that do jump out at you, they're just not like Black Ops where you're constantly fighting as Western Powers. That Mexican Revolutionary leader in Redemption, he's supposed to be a Socialist "for the people".

Probably the smart thing to do.

The language him and Roman spoke was serbian. Some words were mispronounced (like Niko's last name for example), but sometimes it was spot on.

The fact of the matter is, its NOT just a game. It is vile propaganda. Every teenage boy in America is going to grow up thinking that we should have taken out Fidel, killed the Viet Cong, and the Soviets had a bunch of crazy doomsday devices.

Honestly, as soon as I heard that it would take place in Vietnam (at least some of it) I lost a lot of interest. One of the best parts of World at War (and most other CoD games) was laughing at the pile of dead nazi's you just created. Killing Vietnamese peasants just doesn't have the same effect... to say the least.

It is just a game though, what's happening on screen doesn't effect anything in the real world. And considering how popular CoD is I'll probably have to play black ops at some point.

You sound like one of those pissed off soccer moms who's against any form of violent video games, but on a Left Ideological point of view. Maybe you should just relax, take it as a game, and realize that before Black Ops was even a concept in the developers minds, teenage boys in American thought we should have done that stuff anyways. It's call US Schooling for fuck sakes.

I bet you 99% of the people playing this game hardly give a shit about it's political propaganda, or even realize what it truly means, and just want to blow shit up on the latest Call of Duty.

LOL I don't need to look at the wiki page...I've played the actual game through. In one level you steal a truckload of heroin for the Mafia. In another you kill snitches for money.

I mean, his character is amusing, but I stand by my assessment.

this summer my two cousins were talking about Call of Duty: Black Ops and I was there not involved because I don't own a video game console. My cousin was saying;
"Yeah, although it's set in the Vietnam War it's mainly just a Cold War game so you get to kill a bunch of commies."

Other cousin:"Oh wow, that's awesome."

Cousin:"YEAH! Because sharing's for faggots!"

Was my favourite as well. Niko shouts a profound thing to the Police-

'You don't wanna die for the Banks cash!'

Made me think, its funny that in a situation like this, more specifically a Bank Robbery, the State will throw as much as it can at the suspects in order to get the money back, even if it means claiming lives. To state the obvious, money is bullshit.

Is there a GTA where things DON'T go wrong... all the time? I mean, you start a mission and the characters will usually be like 'Don't worry, everything will go smooth'... then BAM oh noes, bad guiz! I really didn't expect that to happen!
Every GTA (except the early ones) seems to have the same old betrayal storyline... Claude, Tommy, CJ and Niko are all betrayed somewhere along the line and the end mission always involves you killing your betrayer/s. I'm hoping for something a little more innovative next time...
