Got this facebook message from 'Meltdown 2017', the remains of the group Chris Knight and co set up for the G20 spectaculist demos. I'm not really sure why I'm posting it (so feel free to move it to another forum) except it is very ridiculous.
[Emphasis added]

Meltdown2017 members will be participating in the conference below in the hope it is not just a talking shop. We will be proposing building direct actions for Mayday 2011 and beyond.

We aim to build People's Councils or Assemblies -- soviets in all but name -- for people to take power over their lives. As the original soviets, these came into formation out of militant strike committees, and in the wake of the fall of the tsar.

Today we are working for the overthrow of the banking tsars! The Bullingdon club old etonians lay down the red carpet for their banking mates -- they represent interests of none of us workers, students, pensioners, or tax-payers from small business to public sector..

Liberation: Beyond Resistance
Building a People's Assemblies Movement
Saturday 11th December 1-5pm
Birkbeck College
Room M417, Malet Street, Birkbeck College, WC1E 7HX
A draft agenda for the 11th will be developed, with those registered at
www.peoplesassemblies.org (http://www.peoplesassemblies.org/)

It is the view of many activists that a very different form of mobilisation, and a new kind of politics aimed at changing the balance of power is now urgently required. Taking inspiration from last year's Climate Justice Action (CJA) mobilisation in Copenhagen, and the many spontaneous calls made there - and elsewhere - for a new movement based on People's Assemblies, the following planning meeting is now being convened.

This is the same non-worker who keeps begging to join the CPGB.

Across the pond, he can find groups like these:

Greater Toronto Workers Assembly (http://www.workersassembly.ca/contact)

or tax-payers from small business

So much for worker-class independence! :glare:
