You're starting to sound like Mussolini, DC. He was a fan of neverending war. I believe he said that war is to men what maternity is to women.

I also enjoy the "edit" on the post. Meaning that young DC actually gave thought to this post prior to making it.

It kind of reminds me of his fourth of jusly post. You know, the one where he pretended to be drunk (Too many specified typos my boy...you gave yourself away) and then came around the following day claiming "I don't remember anything 'cos I was soooooooooooo fuckin' wasted duuuude"

I see right through you DC. You cannot hide your nature from me as I was once young as well. Everything you could possibly think of doing I have already done.

Hmmm, we can't really tell how humans will evolve so we can't say categorically that war is eternal. It's certainly true that individual wars aren't, but I'm not so sure about the concept in action. Obviously we will always remember it, we will always have aggressive emotions (well I reckon so)but there is also a chance that we can overcome those emotions through reason. I reckon there will be war as long as there is class war, when classes no longer exist it will not be long until nations no longer exist (I reckon it will be in that order). :hammer:

I think war, or perhaps a better word would be conflict, is eternal because men have the capacity to think. As long as different men can formulate ideas which are opposed to each other, there will always be conflict.

I never claimed to be against all propaganda. I have no moral problems with deprogramming capitalist propaganda from the masses and replacing it with socialist propaganda.

conflict doesn't mean war

Elect Marx
17th August 2003, 08:42
redcanada is right, short but sweet. Also, conflict does not need to resault in mass death. I see wars as a symptom of a sick society. As all of the wars I have come to understand are started by a ruling class, I have no question as to who is poisoning our society.

DC: War is eternal, in all of it's forms.
Loknar: Yes, but what does this post have to do with anything?

Actually, "War is eternal" is concept often used to justify mass killing. Just as "Struggle is futile," is used to justify a sense of defeatism. These negative veiws of human society and ultimately, human nature, are more poison to a movement for human rights and only inspire our own destruction, These phrases basicaly translate to "Give up and die." This is a concept that will obviously be feed to any oppressed people. Don't let yourself accept the big lies of an oppressive doctrine composed of ideals like bigotry and greed.
