Is greenscare a rising trend over there? Apart from the arrests and FBI raids, SHAC 7 and such, are there any repressions? Hostility from the populace? How does all of this play out in relation to Islamophobia - considering the construct of Islamic terrorism is largely used to generate resentment against "ecoterrorists?"

To clarify, I'm talking about this:

No, but the revolutionary masses are gathering behind the banner of Blackscare. 'Tis only a matter of time.

Victory to the uncouth!

There was that whole mosque thing (http://www.wetmtv.com/news/local/story/Debates-About-Islam/2AeQu2-KgEKsuQkgAmNPOQ.cspx), and that went country-wide pretty quickly. Most people are really afraid of Muslims here.

Yes, Greenscare tactics are being used by the government. Environmental direct action activists are receiving large jail sentences.

I think the trend is on the decline actually. Most of the big cases were dealt with in the mid 2000's. I think most of the raids and investigations were due to the passing of anti-terror legislation and the increase in attacks (such as firebombings and whatnot) by "eco-terrorists" such as the ELF and the ALF.

They did stuff like this:

That's sad :/ The legal basis for this is the "Animal Enterprise Protection Act", right? At least that's what I've heard. If so, seeing as how the act passed 1992, when did the repression wave start?

Is it really declining? Operation backfire started 2005 as far as I'm aware, I'm not sure of the exact situation, but weren't there arrests recently? Also, was OP BF the first of such actions? I thought not?

The greenscare actions (government actions) come and go. There's been a recent rise in arrests within the last 6 months to a year.

You'd have to figure out who they're arresting and if they're being arrested for the same actions- if they're not being arrested for the same actions it's safe to say it's on the rise.

There will be lulls as the covert investigations gather data and the like.
