I can't pick.
Roy Keane? Stefan Effenberg? Patrick Vieira? Sinisa Mihajlovic? Fernando Couto? Joey Barton? Emmanuel Adebayor? Paul Gascoigne? David Beckham?
:)

Your choice... :)
Please note that Gattuso picture is not an assault, but a goal celebration.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently doing very well under the leadership of another great douchebag in football. ;)

Oh yeah, Cristiano is a douche. Everybody seems to hate that guy, but the fans of the team he is playing for. I guess that's what constitutes an epic douchebag.

Yes, even though he wasnt bad last year, now he seems like old time good cristiano! And surely that other douche murinho has an effect to that.Although he is the greatest coach now, and has the potential to be if not the best, one of the best, the fact that he refers to defensive tactics some times(see last year champions league) removes him from my "list".

My choice would be Paolo Di Canio.

I've made up my mind. It's Sinisa Mihajlovic.
http://image.tin247.com/bongdaso/090217084156-213-897.jpg
Note that the guy he is spitting is Adrian Mutu. Mihajlovic is currently the manager of Fiorentina, and Fiorentina's best player is(well, was)... Adrian Mutu.
Also, he is best friends with Roberto Mancini, another douchebag. He even baptized Mancini's son. There is a story that goes back to when Mancini was a captain of Sampdoria, and a very authoritarian one. He used to slap and beat his teammates on trainings if they didn't give 100% or simply if they fucked something up. Young Sinisa came as a not-so-well-known aquisition from Roma, and Mancini slapped him on his first training with the new lads. Sinisa stood up, turned all red and kicked the living shit out of his new captain.
They have been best friends ever since.
Mihajlovic followed Mancini to Lazio, and when the Italian became manager of Inter Milan, he appointed this douche to be his assistant manager.
What I always liked about this guy is that he always picked a fight, and never took it personally. He was the one that advocated for Vieira to come to Inter, even though whenever him and Vieira played, sparks were flying. Mancini incident as well. Mutu as well. He partied with Fernando Couto few years after he got a red card for hitting him in the face.
Serbia was furious with him when he got the red card deliberately in the World Cup game against Germany, with no regard whatsoever about Serbia's future in the WC. Just because he was pissed off at something, god knows what.
In that game Mihajlovic also hit Jurgen Klinsmann in the chest with the ball when he was taking a free kick. Klinsmann immediately lost conciousness (who remembers, he had one hell of a kick), and Mihajlovic later admitted that he hit him deliberately, and that he was not aiming at the goal at all.
Complete douche. I loved him.

No one has mentioned Wayne Rooney which I'm surprised about. His churlish comments about the England fans who booed the team at the world cup. Arrogant little prick doesn't know how lucky he is + he's over rated
P.S. Gazza? :o he was a legend

Ah yeah another piece of evidence against Christiano Ronaldo. Remember when he wanted to leave Man Utd and compared his £100,000 per week contract to slavery?

I haven't been following him since he left England, but C Ronaldo was one of the best players the Premier League has ever seen. Yes, he was a bit on the poncey side, but he was a footballing genius all the same and it was a joy watching him play.

Zidane is a legend, but don't forget forget his ruthless stomp on Fuad Anwar from Saudi Arabia. It was a second match of the 1998 World Cup. Class player, but a douchebag.

I was thinking more of a player that is a douche, but one we all love for some reason. That's why nobody mention delclared Fascists like Buffon or Abbiati.

how is buffon fascist?i remember this discussion before but iirc the article saying that wasnt really believable.

Buffon appeared for a television interview with a right-wing slogan on his jersey which, roughly translated, meant: "Death to those who surrender." Buffon later said he had no idea that the slogan was a fascist slogan for a 1970 right-wing riot in the southern city of Reggio Calabria.
If you remember, in the season when Juventus was relegated from Serie A, he chose a kit number 88(heil Hiltler, numeric alphabet). Cristiano Lucarelli replied with choosing 99 for his. He later denied direct linking with Hitler, but said: "I chose that number because it reminds me of four balls, and we all know what it means to have balls. Strength and determination."
If you did not catch that, he was replacing the meaning from a nazi symbol to another fascist slogan, "strength and determination".
Here is a part of the interview Buffon gave to Gazzetta dello Sport:
Q:Polls indicate that Italians would accept the suspension of democratic guarantees in exchange for a strong man who would put the country in order.
A:“I agree. Now is the moment for severity and respect for the law, without exceptions for anyone.” He was one of the players who refused to visit Auschwitz, when the scandal broke out in 1997.
Clearly right wing fucker with tendencies towards italian traditonal forms of nationalism, which is, in 99% of cases in Italy, a closet Fascist. He clearly can't be more opened about his ideas, because he will lose all sponsors, but he indicates a lot. Even more than Abbiatti or that prick Aquilani.

OK, I'll reconsider my verdict.
These blokes are scum. Not douchebags, but human scum.
Still, Christiano retains the title " biggest football douchebage ever" (since those are scum, and not douchebags:D)

I didn't realise there were so many fascist footballers...
Does anyone else find it strange that the openly fascist Italian footballers play for the national team, but the communist Cristiano Lucarelli got dropped for several years due to him revealing a picture of Che Guevara whilst celebrating a goal?
