I've been a real hip-hop and R&B freak lately and I was trying to find some good foreign hip-hop and R&B artists from all over the world. The music ain't gotta be in English. I like French, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Spanish, Portuguese, and Tagalog mostly, but other languages are fine too. Any suggestions?

You can check out Teh Tarik Crew (http://www.tehtarikcrew.com)and Too Phat (http://www.toophat.com.my), who are from Malaysia. TTC's got a really good turntablist, and Too Phat did some work with Warren G, recently. That's all I know...

It's brilliant stuff. Most Italian rap is socialist or extremely left-wing.

Try looking for Creative Control...have only heard a couple of songs but they weren't bad.

Ri-Ra or Rí-Ra aswell can be more funny than good.

As this site has a Cuban theme how about Orishas.

I think the UJC in Cuba funds a hip-hop/r&b festival every year because it is real popular over there. From what I know although drawing influences from them, a lot of Cubans have shunned the vain materialism of their American counterparts and address social issues. Hence the performers at the festival might attack the Cuban police for their attitude towards young people (healthy opposition).

Anyway, not to get off track. So yeah, I heard some Orishas...err...rapping...in Spanish while I was over there on tv and it wasn't all that bad.
