If the GOP wins control of the House next week, senior congressional Republicans plan to launch a blistering attack on the Obama administration's environmental policies, as well as on scientists who link air pollution to climate change.full article here

Of course I'm not a fan of the GOP, but we can't kid ourselves that the Democrats will save the environment.

They're trying, but in a really lame sort of way. (too little, too late, if you ask me)
But then the typical US Democrat is now in bed with US Conservatives - for example: tax cuts for the rich - forty years ago, such stupidity could not have possibly happened; Dems had balls back then...

Well... over the next 100 years when we have numerous blackouts during the summer in the southern regions and food prices are outrageous because of crop failure... the people will know who to blame and the GOP will be shamed the way in which they deserve... however, it won't much matter for us or the environment because the damage will have already been done... :(

I wonder if these regressive, anti-intellectual creeps are familiar with the term brain drain. What scientist in their right mind would want to operate in a political climate where, for example, Michael Mann faces subpoena and top climate scientists are threatened with congressional investigation? I'm certainly having second thoughts about continuing my education in the US. People won't want to deal with a government that doesn't respect academic freedom.

I recall it was the US Congress that spent (no, wasted) three days debating on a law to criminalize the burning of an American flag. And this was after two US Supreme Court decisions, (which were unanimous, BTW) allowing it as free political speech. Talk about a non-issue.
What a bunch of empty-skulls. It will get a lot worse when the new, clueless, fresh turds get into power... :crying:

In Texas the Attorney General here made a point out of fighting the EPA in his re-election commercials- preventing job loss and big government in his words.
They've been able to turn the EPA into this bogeyman that's going to cost jobs as a result of its policies towards industries. It's no secret who is promoting this viewpoint- but it is unfortunately one that is common now.
