We continue to speak of the small farmer, the poor small farmer, and we never say that the farmer, no matter how poor and small he is, manifestly generates capitalism... It is very true that the campesino has been a pillar of the Revolution, that he was always in favor of it, that he fought in the Sierra, that he was one of the first to join the Rebel army. In spite of this, he must be eliminated.
What the hell was Che on about?
Did he even ever say this? I searched for it and only found two links; both of them to McCarthyist pages.
nonono, ahahhahaha
But yeah, he really did say that, but not with the meaning that you may think it has :)
He's not saying the the campesino has to be "eliminated" as in killed.
He's talking about (in my interpretation) of how the hard worker is not directly producing (for lack of a better word) capitalism. That because he has done so much work in aiding the revolution he shouldn't be helping cpitalism in any way, agrigulture is an important capitalist tool in many countries, including my own........
hmm, actually I don't know for sure what it's supposed to mean
I think he's just talking about their status, and eliminating their group/class for the development of something better, a better system perhaps..... :)
But I know that he's not talking about "eliminating" them in the manner in which it sounds. :)
I've heard this quote before, I've also heard it broken down, but I don't remember much of it.
