OK so maybe he didn't lead the proletarian revolution but I'm sure the more moderate among you guys at least will be saddened by the death of this patriot. :(
This Guardian article is one to make the undecided of you think (both the communists and OIers - he was neither a neoliberal or a revolutionary):

Let me be straight, I had a lot of differences with him. On 95% of things I think he was wrong, but on the 5% most improtant he was right. Argentina has progressed a lot in the past decade and become independent of the IMF, and USA, without some kind of violent agenda aginst them either. Respect and sovereignity.
He angered the monopoly interests a hell of a lot, but I have family and friends who have small and medium-sized companies, and while they may have complaiend a lot about him, they certanly are shocked and saddened now he's gone - and fear of uncharted territory and a return to the "Washington Consensus" has kicked in. He will be missed by many, even many who hated himw hile he was alive - a sign to "be careful what you wish for".
And be under no illusions, there 99.9999% sure won't be a Bolshevik insurrection from his death, but there certainly will be a right-wing drive to overshadow anything we saw in the past when he was alive.
