I'm sure Tony Blair's flipping his the most. Not to long ago, he tried claiming that Islamic fundamentalism was the same as revolutionary communism.

He probably cares because it could be used against his political party, though. The idea that the former Labour leaders sister is a Muslim now, the non-Labour politicians who try to propagate fear against Muslims and ideas about "Islamification" could jump on that.

I cant really see that being used. The Tories wouldnt dare try to.
Even if it was, i dont think Blair cares about the Labour party now he isnt involved. All he cares about is getting his money.

Either George Osbourne or David Cameron's brother converted to Islam sometime last year, so I can't really see the Tories doing something like that.
Anyway, this is a non-story in the Uk. It made the cover of the Mail on Sunday and hasn't been spoken about since.

Yeah, but groups like the BNP. Though I suppose Blair probably doesn't give a shit about what they think, so you are probably right.

I didn't know that, I thought he was still involved somewhat. My bad.

It's a minor blow to blairs reputation, not that he needs it anymore.

In what way is it a blow to his reputation?

He is an outspoken critic of islam. Is he not?

Why would she do such a stupid thing?
Clearly because she found more of a connection to those who consider themselves Muslim, than she did when she was whatever before that. This girl that I know converted to Christianity, not because of any "spiritual awakening" or shit like that, but because she found love & a connection to those at this church she attended to for the first time.

it makes more sense than converting to catholicism.

Not really, he is an outspoken critic of 'Islamic extremism' which obviously veers heavily into generally Islamophobia. If anything he'd probably enjoy having a Muslim in the family 'some people accuse me of prejudice, I sat for dinner last night next to my Muslim sister-in-law...' (Not that I think it really matters or he really cares much anymore). Although I think now that he is big of spreading Catholic love he is getting involved in a bunch of 'inter-faith dialogue'.
I think you also have to be pretty confused it was being a 'critic of Islam' that was what built his reputation.

It's not really mysterious at all. The ruling class protects its own.
