What are the arguments for a one-party state after a revolution? I'm not convinced of this at all (actually, opposed is more like it), but I'm curious about the political justification for this view. I've heard people argue that since parties represent class interests, it is divisive to have multiple parties... or something along those lines. Is that it?

Depends on the state organisation. As I see it, parties and party memberships should have nothing to do with representatives, as they are supposed to be representatives of the people, not of the parties they are members of. So provided that parties are completely separated from the democratic process, I cannot see how one party system could be all that bad. After all, in such a society the role of party would be mainly to organize the co-operation of democratic elements, and the common defense of such democratic communities. In such a role, multiple parties would be destructive to say the least.
