In a powerful display of pro-Palestinian solidarity, PSL members and Cal State Fullerton students disrupted a meeting led by two Israeli Defense Forces soldiers.

On Wednesday, Oct. 13, the two IDF members set foot on the CSUF campus to give firsthand accounts of what its like to serve in the Israeli army as part of a speaking tour in an attempt to paint the brutal, racist military in a humane light.

The soldiers, who refused to disclose their last names, spoke to a small crowd of students in a discussion and Q&A session put on by CSUF Hillel and Stand With Us.

In their discussion, both soldiers talked about the IDFs moral codes and ethical views, which they said is something the IDF strictly abides by when interacting with Palestinianslies that would be laughable if they implicated something less serious than collective punishment, bombing of children, checkpoints used to humiliate and degrade Palestinians every day, and disgusting T-shirts depicting brutalized Palestinian women with the slogan, Better Use a Condom.

Amongst the attendees, who appeared to be mostly Zionists, were three PSL members and several other supporters of Palestinian liberation. Tamara Khoury, a member of the PSL and a Palestinian student, disrupted the session asking, What is humane about the mass murder of more than 1,400 Palestinians, mostly women and children? After several minutes Khoury was forced to leave.
PSL member Doug Kauffman then continued to disrupt the meeting for more than 20 minutes asking questions like, How are five Zionists lives worth 1,400 Palestinians' lives? How do you call the Palestinian freedom fighters terrorists when the UN recognizes the indigenous populations right to rid their homeland of the colonizing Zionists by any means necessary?

The IDF soldiers continued to be challenged and the meeting was an utter failure in its attempt to propagate the myth of a humane IDF and humane occupation.

I don't see what's so "powerful" about this. This happens on my campus whenever one of these losers comes to speak here.

Did anyone state this as being "powerful" in the first place? I think it's merely a relevant piece to be known on our current situation of Israeli propaganda making its way successfully through US media. It's a relief to say the least that people like the PSL are willing to stand against them & actually denounce them in order to fail their propaganda campaigns.

Check the first sentence of the article, bro. Says 'powerful' right there.

Ahh, my mistake then. But still, what I stated still stands.

I don't think that two students asking a bunch of questions to IDF soldiers and "disrupting" a lecture on a college campus is really news. You apparently think otherwise.

Of course, mere questions in itself wouldn't disrupt a "lecture", but what the questions tend to do may do so. Such as those that were given during the "lecture", exposing their crimes in front of Jewish-America civilians who are led to believe that the Jewish-State Israel is an innocent, & humane nation.

And I think it's an enormous inflation of one's sense of self importance to write about something like this and distribute it through national press as if it was of any importance. I'm not against the action, I just think it's blown way out of proportion. I mean fuck, I've gone to lectures and have done this myself without writing in a fucking newspaper about it. Because it's not really that important. And to describe it as a "powerful display of solidarity" just shows how far that delusional egotism goes.

I'd rather hear some realistic discussion, like how in terms of national politics communists are completely irrelevant. Including PSL.

But it wasn't distributed through national press. It was reported by the PSL on their website, the very group that denounced these IDF soldiers & exposed their lies in front of a group of Jewish-American citizens.

Disregarding the idiotic tones of your post, it's important every time these assholes show up at a college campus (or anywhere for that matter) to make them feel as unwelcome as possible. So I'm glad that this happened on your campus, just as I am glad it happened on the Cal State campus, and just as it happened at the University of Michigan here:

Yrna_jNArqk

The IDF and Israel are clearly trying to regain the positive image that they previously had prior to the Mavi Marmara incident and it's important to speak out against this wherever we can.

So, yes, it is "powerful" and it's important.

Disregarding your idiotic tones, no it isn't. Disrupting a lecture by IDF members is not that important, much less "powerful". You are completely delusional.

Every action is worth taking note of and every tiny bit of solidarity is important. Stop being such a hater.

Its an everyday war against capitalism. Stop belittling the efforts of others.
