My grandad passed away this morning, and me and all my cousins have been round the house with my Nan looking at his old things, i found some stuff i did not expect.
First we found bullets in a metal locker, most were blanks, but there was one bullet that said 9mm at the end, so my dickhead auntie took them to the police station.
We also found Union books, one for the boiler makers union, and one for the trade unions, My dad gave me a pin he had that says Oldham trade union, say no to racism.
My grandad told me he was a socialist, but claims northern Ireland was always British etc, I think he may have been a kind of tony benist.
We also found out all the men on my grandads side were union men, this got me thinking, is there any hope that the unions may be used as a radical organisation, or will they always sell the workers out?
I also was wondering how much nurses are paid, the ones looking after my grandad were amazing, but i was told they only earn like 14 grand a year, is this true?
