What is the best way to proxy?

I'd go with Tor (http://www.torproject.org/) cuz onion routing gives you more layers of anonymity than using a standalone proxy.

But your privacy isn't assured with Tor. (see "WikiLeaks Was Launched With Documents Intercepted From Tor," by Wired magaizne)

Infact you don't know that the person that owns a standard proxy server hasn't been copying the data you send.

I suggest setting up your own Proxy server. Only then you can be assured.

Today I was using a proxy on my account with parental controls to try to watch porn. However, once I got to the site (the one i normally use on a diffrent computer) my internet kept saying error and canceling. It did this every time I restarted internet explorer even after I restarted the computer. What is the issue and will it go away by itself?

LOL. If you wanna watch porn just go to the library.

First off, Ditch IE and get Firefox. It has a private session feature. Don't know if it'll get around the blocks though. Try another proxy if the one you have doesn't work,

You know it! The library is where I get all my porn related chores done. Great thing is I'm not the only one!:hammersickle::trotski::hammersickle:

Tor protects your identity from the server you're communicating with, and prevents your ISP from knowing what server you're connecting to. Obviously, whether you use tor or not, end to end encryption to that server is mandatory if you transmit classified data. No one can do that for you, tor included. For revleft, where posts are public, tor is more than enough.

To note though: this site doesn't use SSL encryption by default, meaning your password is sent in PLAIN-TEXT. The final tor server you route through (or, if you're not using Tor, your ISP) can see that password. Also, the rumor that Wikileaks was started with documents snarfed from the Tor network is nothing more than that (just a rumor). It's possible, but the majority of stuff on Wikileaks probably did not come from Tor. In any case, if you're a stupid diplomat sending sensitive information through Tor without end-to-end encryption well then you can't exactly claim you were following proper security practices. The same goes for revolutionaries.

Exactly. Whether you use tor or not, encryption is necessary for transferring classified data. While an encrypted connection to revleft would be nice, the cost of the security certificates is a bit too much for the paranoid possibility of tor exit node posting messages on revleft using your account.
