Hello RevLeft, I am RedLeft.

I am 18 years old and I currently attend a university in Long Island, New York. My major is computer science. I started to consider myself a leftist during this past year after further study of communism, which resulted from a lot of education on the Cold War and philosophical thinking.

I am not specifically sure of my specific tendency, but that is something I would like to figure out eventually. For now I will say "non-doctrinaire communist". I am not currently active in any political parties, but I am getting there. I seriously looked into the CPUSA, but decided that they were not what I'm looking for.

Today, I put in an application to join the Party for Socialism and Liberation. I'm not sure if I am going to become a member yet, but after reading about it, it looks like something I might like to be a part of.

I have lurked a little bit on here, and I look forward to participating in the forums. I am very interested in learning more about communism and other leftist tendencies.

Thanks for listening, I can't wait to become a part of this community.

Welcome!

Looking into CPUSA and then rejecting them seems to be a rite of passage for Marxists these days. ;)

Yeah, I actually realized the error of my ways after talking to them on the phone and stuff. So I am going to have to tell them I'm not interested.
