This has been in the offing for some time, but I didn't wanna go telling tales out of school for obvious reasons. Now that the Minneapolis IWW and Jimmy John's workers have gone public, I suppose it's cool. Incidentally, if you live in the San Francisco Bay area and would like to help out, we [the SF Bay IWW branch] are doing a solidarity action at the Weston Presidio (a corporation that owns a 30% interest in Jimmy John's) corporate headquarters next Monday. PM me for details if you'd like to attend.

What would a fast-food union give to workers across the country? A voice, for the first time in history.

Just a few weeks ago, employees of ten Minneapolis Jimmy John's sandwich shops submitted a demand of union recognition by local fast-food chain owners to the local office of the National Labor Relations Board, which if successful, would be the first fast-food union in U.S. history.
