Was just wondering what people would think of Marx's theories if someone were to remove all the references to socialism, communism, and replace loaded words like proletariat and bourgeoisie with more palatable ones to the "average" person, such as "the struggling classes" and the "elites in power." Words that are generally associated with ideas about society people tend to agree with.
Then I got to thinking if something like this doesn't already exist. Is there such a thing? Has someone ever attempted or is there someone who approaches a type of communism without "communism" (or "anarchism")

Yeah, people have tried to make communism more "palatable" in the past. If you listen to people like the heads of the Democratic Socialists or the CP-USA when they give interviews on TV, they make very little (if any at all) references to communism, the proles, etc.

I honestly think it is a good idea to start changing all the names, because these vocabulary now are heavily connotative and associated with dictatorships, purges, and human rights violations that it is actually detrimental to socialist cause
