View Full Version : Leftist-Proletariat Advantages on the Net

I am thinking of some right off the bat:
--Progressive worldview. This enables faster support for new phenomenon. It is also pro-technology.
--Materialism: The bourgeoisie worldview is becoming increasingly subjectivist.
--Numbers.
--Ability to skip steps: Such as Supply and Demand, simply bypass it with things like YouTube.
--Evidence.
--Logic
--Innovative: It is a fact, according to Frank Sulloway, that liberals and leftists tend to be more willing to innovate and support newer ideas earlier. This tends to be biased against the status quo.

I think he's trying to explain why Stormfront is ten times bigger than RevLeft. ;) :D

Right-wingers generally dominate on the net, mostly because it takes longer time to write long and elaborated entries than it is to spew out one-sentence hate posts.

I don't think they are, stormfront is big, but its all they got, there are tons of websites all around on the left.

The right isn't consisting exclusively of nazis. Just look at the commentary section of typical mainstream newspapers, or of youtube videos.

Neither so, though on neutral boards, at least in Sweden, the vast majority who are political tend to be to the right of the population in general, which could be caused by the fact that 90% of active forum users are male, and males generally are more right-wing.

this is what you might call a "high brow" neo-fascist website. It's not a forum like stormfront, but it gives you an idea of what the upper class of the ultra-right are thinking.

Actually: no.
Stormfront is 277 on the top 1000. RevLeft--the biggest radical leftist site doesn't register at all. As far as I could see neither does any other Leftist site.
For the most part from what the list shows--the internet isn't much politicized at all. Religion does pretty well, though.

Traditionalists and identitarians are really the fringe of the fringe. They are the emos of the nazi world. Imagine a thin guy with perfectly cut straight black hair, sitting with a white shirt, black tie, black trousers with suspenders and a pair of boots, sitting on a colourful Indian sofa, and listen to Derniere Volonte or Death in June playing on his CD player while he is reading on a Lovecraft novel.
They are not a physical threat to anyone. In some rare cases, they could become the leaders of movements, but that is probably "below" most of them, since they are "too" aristocratic for that. These are people who want to be unique and exceptional.
It's the same kind of people who become objectivists. Savitri Devi and Ayn Rand are about equally insane anyway.

THe soft-left, i.e. progressives, i.e. counterpunch, alternet, the huffington post, and so on, are bigger than right wing internet.
I'm not talking about LEninists vrs Nazis online.

That is true then. There's also Slate and the Daily Kos and I guess a few more. On the other side Comservatives OWN AM radio. The Left's attempts to field opposition have all failed badly in most cases.

They tried and tried, but douchy right wing radio is just more entertaining then reasonableness.
Also the internet is not as reliant on corporate money as radio is.

Yea, but liberals don't seem to want to listen to radio. If a liberal could hit it big on radio--he'd get plenty of financial support. The thing is that rush Limbaugh not only is a leading talk show personality--he actually reinvented the entire medium in his own image. Love him or hate him he was a true innovator.
The Liberals need to do something similar. (On the net they did with something like the Daily Kos.)

Now that is creepy. 300 views--so not that many fans which is good.

I'll give him that.

Maybe, but as far as I'm concerned, the right wing can have AM radio, we'll take the internet.

The problem there is that the Internet is an open medium--it would be easy for the Right (with it's piles of money) to start up all sorts of websites.
On the other hand--radio is closed. There are only so many stations and so many programs and for the most part the Right has that sowed up.
Actually it seems the Leftists have a couple:

Sure it would, but the internet is much more grass roots and less beholdant to money, which is why the left does better on it.
