Hey all, I love any music artist that's conscious, and spend their life devoted to finding the truth.
Artists like :
Bob Marley - inspirational leader of the rastafarians worldwide, and a model West Indian to look up to, for his ideas of peace and unity will never die.
Marilyn Manson - Not too positive, but still different. I love the fact that he's been true to himself, and questions the whole notion of 'free speech', that our 'democratic' states usually influence. hehe.
Talib Kweli - Great conscious rapper, I suggest ANYONE to pick up any one of his LP's. His songs are very deep, especially 'The Proud' which talks about various situations, such as the events of 9/11.
Marvin Gaye - Positive R&B role model, and song entitled "What's Going on?" is very conscious about the then current state of society's woes.
And the list goes on..

Marilyn Manson is so fake.
I like his songs, I dont very much like him.
He comes off like some kind of "fuck you fuck that" kind of shit but is all over himself and his popularity. Acts like he doesnt care, but clings on to his image like its what keeps him alive, his image being what gives him his fame...
...anywho, Thats cool. Atleast you not like those kinda pukes that say "yeah this music rocks, that music over there sucks!" and youve never even given it a chance!
I like almost all that you like exept R&B...most of the time the beat and a lot of the lyrics annoy me. There are hardly any good R&B artist out there. Almost all the lyrics are about somebody loving somebody else and how they cant live without them. But then another album comes out and they sing about someone else they just cant live without, and then the next album and then the next and so on and so on....
...SOME songs I can stand a bit...but not much... <_<

"Almost all the lyrics are about somebody loving somebody else and how they cant live without them" That is So true! It gets really annoying sometimes but I DO listen to some R&B. Not much though.
Marilyn Manson is just one big weirdo. I can never take that guy seriously. Wait, but I love that remake of that one 80's song he did.

Sweet Dreams is an amazing Manson song. I dont like any of his other stuff but that one songs great. I love the way he takes the whole dance thing from the original and then makes it his own.

But original is always best......re; Manson - just a shocking freak, how far can you take that? Suicide on stage? Let's hope so.....what would really shock me would be if he made a decent record.. just like so many artists these days he's all image...

Ya, I have some pretty oddball tastes in music too.
I listen to mostly reggae and punk. But I like just about every kind of music there is, besides electronic techno type stuff. Although I'm sure there is even some of that I would like. I even like SOME old country.

There's a lot of intelligence behind that image (Manson)... he's made so many points on various shitty things... Things can go beyond the limits of your ability to conceive of them.

I don't care much about Manson, but I LOVE "The Beautiful People".. it's an amazing song! I also like Sweet Dreams.
I like music from all genres. If it sounds good, it sounds good! Heck I even like a spice girls song :P
It's unfortunate that some restrict themselves to one musical Genre.
