I've been reading a lot recently on Yugoslavia and that inevitably means I have to read a lot of comments in forums, youtube videos, etc. In that part of the Internet, you meet people who pay lip service to the national equality/stability of SFR Yugoslavia, but are incredibly racist. Example: one user makes videos about the JNA and life under Tito, and advocates for socialism and equality. But this same user has videos trying to whitewash Ratko Mladic and the Bosnian Genocide, saying Serbia was simply responding to a threat. You meet lots of others who comment on Yugonostalgic videos saying "Zivela Srbija," etc.
So the question is this: how much is nostalgia for SFR Yugoslavia and Tito in the Balkans tied to nationalism or ethnic intolerance? Can it be separated?
