This really shows how it works: Capital benefits from the status quo. The capitalist class loves it as it is, with immigrant workers completely at their mercy. But at the same time they are feeding hypocrites and bigots like Dobbs to make smokescreens and stir up hatred toward immigrants. The funny thing is that if what these talking heads are talking about were ever implemented, their labor costs would go way up and their profits would go way down. It isn't meant to be implemented in real life. We're never going to deport workers en masse no matter how much influence the extreme right gains.

Yeah Dobbs is/was just full of shit. A Harvard Business dork on TV every night crying about "theh attaks ohn theh midwle clwass!" while also promoting economic policies that have no other function other than to increase inequality through transfer wealth from the working class to the very rich! Of course he blames immigrants for the increased poverty of US workers - it's classic scapegoating and since he went to an eliete business school he'd better convince people to blame someone other than all his classmates and associates.
