After Capitalism has been abolished, and socialism implemented worldwide, the working class in the third world will benefit hugely, but the first world will have to consume far less, here are my reasons for coming to this conclusion.
Lots of leftists say that enough food is produced to feed the world ten times over, but the only reason this is so, is because of the easy availability of cheap labour, in the underdeveloped nations, and long and tortorous hours.
Under socialism, workers in India and Africa will not be working 14 hours a day picking cofee beans or share cropping and toiling untuil they die at 30.
And under socialism, the third world will not have to send its fruit, and rice and meat to the first world, so there will be a huge drop in the availability of food, and also cotton, and materials for clothing.
The only way to avoid this is to make sure the population is spread more evenly into the countryside in the first world, with huge agricultural projects, to make 1st world self sufficient.

Not completely true. US agriculture subsidies cut out poor farmers across the developing world.

US and first-world agriculture isn't directed to be as productive and efficient as possible, but that doesn't mean we have unused potential in terms of land use.

so what are you saying, do you offer any solutions?
Post revolution, Latin America and Africa etc will not send its natural resources and fruit to the first world anymore, and if the first world did take their resources then it would not be socialism.
So how can we overcome this contradiction in production?
Maybe, all the means of production that were shipped to the third world can be sent back to the first world, and th third world could concentrate on agriculture, where as industrialised first world nations could produce things like cars, and clothes and computers etc.
That way the third world workforce could be used to maximise food production for the worldwide proletariat, and first world industrialised nations could focus on things like producing engines computers clothes and all non food products.

I disagree, Latin America and the rest of the underdeveloped world should industrialize so that we won't need to waste resources on shipping goods all over the world when it could be avoided. What we need to do is use efficient farming methods in all parts of the world so that the world can develop evenly. More efficient farming methods are not possible under capitalism because of the market combined with government subsides. The market causes us to get rid of our excess because it would drive the price down. Instead this excess could be distributed to nations where there is absence of a given crop. Additionally, government subsidies encourage single crop farming which is a very inefficient method. Under socialism we could use something like the "three sisters" technique where instead of planting just corn (because corn is subsidized) we plant corn squash and pumpkin which preserves the land so that we can farm in the next season. While the workers in the underdeveloped world should and will be working reasonable hours, I think that the decrease of production that occurs because of this would be counterbalanced with the increase that occurs when using the better farming techniques.

Good reply redbrother, but can you back the part where you say the lack of cheap long hour labour would be counterbalanced by farming techniques?
Do you have statistics of how much is produced now, and then subtract the stuff that was made through near slave wages?
Also, i do not think industrialisation needs to be rapid, because, when rapid industrialisation happens, alot of people die, as we saw in russia and the whole of the USSR.

The main problem of third world regarding agriculture production is low productivity of labor because of old, backdated methods and machinery. What you have is true IF AND ONLY IF THE PRESENT MODE OF PRODUCTION WILL PERSIST UPTO THAT TIMES. But, in my opinion, there will be certainly some drastic changes in that. I hope you know about the landless agricultural methods like hydroponics and other methods. Most of the third world countries are situated in the tropical belt with plenty of sunlight. Such methods can be of great help to increase the productivity of agriculture there. Probably deserts like Sahara can be the future food source.
New machinery and improved farming methods like drip irrigation can do magic in third world countries. But for that, we need a society that is willing and capable bring the fruits of scientific and technological development to the ground level.
