Tried to watch that movie once... Turned it off as soon as the first song and dance routine began. Great waltzing Jesus, I do hate a musical.

I quite enjoyed it, it's not my general cup of tea but bits and pieces appealed to my sense of humour and so on. The ending was so typically Wheedon that anyone who didn't see it coming from fucking miles away has something wrong with them and the whole thing did feel a bit, I don't know, "thin" I guess. On the other hand the music was polished and catchy with lyrics I've often felt inclined to sing along, so it serves its purpose.

I would imagine (if I were to take it serious) as some kind of federation of communes with a direct democratic base and then one leader at the top who is kind of "outside of the system" (Ghaddafi XD).
