SUCK ON IT, imperialism!

Now the warning shots have been fired. Correa must turn to the proletariat and appeal to them to let loose the energies of socialism. Idk much about Alianza PAIS but from what I do know it should serve as a good foundation for a mass revolutionary party. Correa has already taken the first positive steps by his earlier expulsion of bureaucratic elements from the party.

Viva la revolucion!

Um...what does this have to do with imperialism?

The US was obviously partly responsible of the coup attempt against the pro-Socialist government of Ecuador. This is what we call an act of imperialism:

Don't be naive. You really think this was a spontaneous police uprising over wages?

I think it is likely less an issue of imperialist intervention and more so one of the domestic bourgeoisie trying to take advantage of a fault line and seize the opportunity. Obviously the United States deals with such forces, and funds their political machinery, but I don't see any reason to believe the United States was behind this coup attempt. This was a very half-assed attempt at seizing power, to say the least.

So was the failed coup against Chavez in 2002. Yet, we know for a fact the US was partly behind the coup. Shitty coup's doesn't necessarily mean the US wasn't involved. Like I said above, it's pretty much obvious the US was partly behind this coup as well:

who attempts a coup with teargas? I can't tell if the police are just stupid or if the media/state is blowing this way out of proportion

Viva la Revolucion Socialista!

This is a glorious day for Latin American Socialism. I'm very happy, not to mention relieved, that this coup attempt was rather emphatically, it seems, rejected by the people and defeated with the help of the army.

only fools jump to conclusions. correa is the right wing of his party. and cuz the left wing of his pro-capitalist "socialst" party is putting up a fight against them, hes said he might dissovle congress!

does this sound like a great socialist fight worth defending?
or is this a protest against the rulling party whose trying to make the working people pay for the crimes of the international capitalist class by forcing cuts on them.

im not saying that its not a coup by the right, but i think it foolish to say it is a coup from the right.

you might find egg on your face when the truth comes out.

I think it's the time to give arms to the proletariat and common people and try to find potential assistance from the military in case of another attempt.

I think there is this weird tendency on the Left to see the US government and its attack arms(like the CIA) as all-powerful and incapable of making mistakes and fuck-ups. Their human too and can make misjudgements and pursue bad strategies, just like the Left does.
The difference is that they have such vast resources at their disposal that they can make a number of bad moves and still prevail. For revolutionaries, just one or two major mistakes can doom everything.

Lucio Gutierrez was the instigator, and he gets money from the US. Simple enough? Did you forget Correa didn't renew the US military base treaty and made them move out (to Colombia)?.

Oh the US do make many mistakes, they just keep throwing money all over the place to anything that mildly benefits them, and then go against them if needed. Such was the case of Manuel Noriega in Panama, and many others. The US even supports terrorism, and gives them safe haven, only because it suits their interest. Such is the case of Orlando Bosch and Posada Carriles. Bin Laden also happened to be in the CIA payroll...

Report confirmed: U.S. Intelligence depth entered Ecuadorian police

According to the document, units of the police forces maintained an informal economic dependence on the United States for the payment of informants, training, equipment and operations.
