What exactly is an apologetics/unapologetics argument?
I tried using google but all it said that it was a type of argument usually concerning religion.

I see the word(s) a lot on here and I'd like to know exactly what it means.

It may be confusing that in English apologetic (from apologize) means to say that some one is sorry.

But from Latin apologĭa, and from Greek ἀπολογία means a discourse defending or praising something or someone.

So an apologist argument is just in defense of an idea, alright.

Then what would "unapologetically" mean when describing a tendency? eg, "unapologetically stalinist"?

To engage in apologetics means to defend something, it is entirely distinct from apologizing.

Yes... I realize and realized from the start that it is distinct from apologizing.

Now I'm still confused as to what an "Unapologetic" outlook is.

It basically means that they're not ashamed to showcase their tendency.

Early Christian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_Christian) writers (c 120-220) who defended their faith against critics and recommended their faith to outsiders were called apologists.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apologist#cite_note-0)

As i understand it, an apologist of X, is one that tries to defend X when it is clear that X is "bad",and he knows it.
Unapologetic stalinist would be a stalinist that either dismisses the accusations of stalin, or regards them trivial in light of the positive stuff he brought about.

And by positive i mean of course the naked men drawings (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iP77Tu3W9UHACDODDDkHFy1tNdew)
