Red Faction get's it's name from the Red Army Faction (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Army_Faction) although I think they've disbanded.

Other than the fact that I thought "Hmmmm....Red Faction...that would make a nice name for a new guerilla organization....oh well it's just a video game..."

In fact, I have already started an organization dubbed the Communist Labor Party. I found there were no active political parties with that name.

As for the Red Faction, I already knew they took it from the west german Red Army Faction. Yes, yes I know a little about it, as well as the similar Symbionese Liberation Army.

Anyways, Red Faction would make a nice name but obviously people would think of the game, but WHAT THE FUCK EVER DUDE WHO GIVES A MOTHERFUCK.
