I've always thought that blatant hypocrisy was an intended factor in creating policy in the states.

What about the workers repression in the heavily publicized Dubai?
They literally have the model for neo-liberal globalization there in tact. Huge income disparity, no workers rights and massive debt created mega projects that might soon need bailing out.

Of course it is. Iran's main crime is being a foil to US interests in the region. It has little to do with human rights, freedoms, or any other humanitarian interest. The US will prop up the most horrific dictatorships as long as they tow the US line. Have you read nothing of americas interferance in Latin america from the lat 1800's to now?

Of course not. But would you expect anything differently? The US, among other developed, imperialist nations, look more of countries that keep markets open, not so much their form of government or actions towards the populace. If they don't play ball, then they'll start pulling stuff like that out of the wood works.
