I have to use Twitter

I've been tasked with getting 1,000 followers on Twitter for a certain group. I've never used it, and I think it's a bunch of bourgeois bullshit, but I will force myself to do it.

Anyone have tips for how to use Twitter and gain followers?

There are others like them. They apparently work the same way as the YouTube view-trading sites where you watch random videos and earn credits, which increase the likelihood of your video being shown to others. So, you follow random "tweeters" and you'll get followers back.

I've tested the YouTube ones and they do work, so I'd guess that the Twitter ones do as well. The thing is, I doubt that people will stay followers unless they like the stuff you "tweet."

I guess a thousand is a lot. How did you get those 51 followers? Are they people who just stumbled on it, or are they organization members?

All I've posted so far is a link to our web page and information about a concert we will have soon. I've tried doing some searches about topics and people that interest me, and it seems like 99% of the results are totally fucking worthless. Why does anyone even use this shit, and how can I get them to 'follow' my account?

The former mostly. Besides on our website, the feed is purely propagated by other feed readers.

Be a consistent and frequent updater of your feed and you will attract followers sooner or later.
