Surprised they just walked out, I thought it was a very good speech.

I haven't checked the speech out yet, but that's just how the US and cadre are. It's really childish. They can hop up there and spew their nonsense, but if a country they don't like gets to spew its own particular brand of nonsense, they hop up and stomp off in some sort of temper tantrum.

i caught some of it (speech) and it was nothing earth shattering, they walked out in a huff after the listed three theories about how 9/11 took place. one good point was i hate to admit was when he said one cannot fight terrorists through conventional warfare apart from that nothing to write home about.

p.s
caught it late so never heard the "rant" against capitalism

China's the *economic* up-and-comer, while Iran's the *political* up-and-comer, huh -- ?(!)

The "truther" beginning of the speech was what sent people walking... had he completely reversed his speech, it would have had more of an effect on the people. By the time he finished, the room was at least a 1/3 empty.

looks like the war is off, goldman sachs is said to be opening a branch in Terhran. I thought it was a bold speech, bolder than Chavez. It appears that only the left and the political class in the west are still giving it the official story on 9/11, according to polls. Chavez and Castro too question 9/11.
I think Marx would have been 9/11 truther but thats me. I have read all of Marx. He was a gutsy guy who might have seen the anomaly of two planes and three buildings down.

Since the Americans and their allies started leaving when he was talking about 9/11 conspiracies could that mean the conspiracy theories are true.

He probably also would've seen the anomaly of an alternative theory involving a secret cabal of bloodthirsty, ruthless Zionists who really orchestrated 9/11, with followers and accomplices who's loyalty makes the Japanese imperial army look like a bunch of deadheaded slackers by comparison. Or perhaps the anomaly of having the vast majority of hijackers be Saudi nationals (a nation that's allied with the U.S.), or perhaps the anomaly of performing the most elaborate hoax in human history but failing to fabricate even one WMD in Iraq in order to justify the invasions, even in the beginning of the occupation when the media was fellating Bush and the Pentagon with gusto.

"The Emperor's New Clothes" (Danish: Kejserens nye Klęder) is a short tale by Hans Christian Andersen about two weavers who promise an Emperor a new suit of clothes invisible to those unfit for their positions or incompetent. When the Emperor parades before his subjects in his new clothes, a child cries out, "But he isn't wearing anything at all!" The tale has been translated into over a hundred languages.[1]

Plot

An Emperor who cares for nothing but his wardrobe hires two weavers who promise him the finest suit of clothes from a fabric invisible to anyone who is unfit for his position or "just hopelessly stupid". The Emperor cannot see the cloth himself, but pretends that he can for fear of appearing unfit for his position or stupid; his ministers do the same. When the swindlers report that the suit is finished, they dress him in mime and the Emperor then marches in procession before his subjects. A child in the crowd calls out that the Emperor is wearing nothing at all and the cry is taken up by others. The Emperor cringes, suspecting the assertion is true, but holds himself up proudly and continues the procession.

I don't feel like getting into all of it here -- it's a far-ranging and complex issue in and of itself, but I don't think it's necessarily a political priority at the moment. Check out this website, if you like....

I'm Danish, so I'm familiar with H.C. Andersen's tales. My response to your post was a reaction the nonsensical idea that buying in to your particular conspiracy theory (which you then can't defend without an appeal to authority) is some kind of test to see if people are "real" leftists.

Okay, since you need me to s-p-e-l-l i-t o-u-t f-o-r y-o-u, the *point* is that political people *may* want to examine just exactly what the claims are about the day of 9-11. It *is* a litmus test of sorts because why would you want to politically associate with those who *don't* take a closer, empirical look at what actually happened -- unless there are greater political concerns that *do* take precedence -- which I understand -- hence my saying that 9/11 Truth is not necessarily a political priority right now.

I don't look to any kind of authority on this issue -- what I posted already *should* be sufficient -- this part:

It doesn't matter who's behind 9/11. Even if it happened exactly as we've been told, the responses of the general public (islamophobia) and politicians (security laws, more imperialist wars) are unjustified.

Also, someone get me new delegates. Fucking crybabies.

Regardless who's behind the WTC attacks, haven't these people got jobs to do? Isn't it their jobs to attend these talks? What did they do, walk out and have a hot cup of coco while on the phone to their mothers about the mean Iranian man? Pathetic. If I walked out of a meeting I'd be fired instantly.

To be fair, their job is to represent their countries.

Their countries are rude pricks.
