I absolutely have no idea what this is doing in Learning.
I think Orlando Bloom is kind of cute, though, if you wanted to talk about that instead.

"Good or bad" is not within my definition of being clear. This forum is for political questions and I, for one, have no idea what's political about George Clooney, besides that he probably is some sort of generic Hollywood liberal.
Please, do elaborate a bit here.

He was pretty good in Ocean's Eleven. That's so political... wealth distribution in vegas... to eleven proletarians.

I donate to charities from time to time. Why aren't we making a thread about me?
Charity is fine, but it's also an excuse for liberals and capitalism in general to not do radical change. So long as charities exist, you'll always have someone going "Well society doesn't need to provide for the less fortunate, that's what generous people donating to charities is for!"
It reminds me of that line in The Trotsky where Leon is at the meeting and tells the head of the teacher's council or whatever "I'm sorry that our insignificant cause isn't dramatic enough for you to care about!" after she is trying to defend herself by saying that she helps a charity that aids African children.
But to directly answer your question (and assuming by "reliable" you mean "won't steal my money and credit card info"), the Red Cross and Oxfam are generally safe bets.

He's talking about Ocean's 11. But George Clooney is cool and that's neat he donates to charity, nothing to get excited about though.
You should look into Danny Glover, apparently he's an ardent leftist and labor activist.
Go figure huh?

Good actor. His comedic work is underrated, much like Alec Baldwin's was. But, uh, yeah. This really doesn't belong in Learning.
Thread moved.

Not a bad actor either.

Danny Glover is, apparently, the shit. George Clooney is meh.
Though he did an animated movie recently that sort of glorifies direct action...

But dosen't most charitys give a little profit of it to said donation and keep the rest at office/to them? Im serioualy, ofcourse they won't steal my credit card info, thats not what i meant.

Another sanctimonious American celeb who thinks he knows what's best for Africans.

He's a horrible actor. He plays the same smug ass clown in every movie, and only recently has he departed from that. So many different roles, but always the same character. Compared to say, Johnny Depp, who is never the same character in different movies (minus sequels obviously).
I agree to an extent with Vanguard, but let's face it. African genocides need all the attention they can get.
edit: I may have been a little harsh, but I believe the point persists.

Up in the Air & The Fantastic Mr. Fox were wonderful.

I agree, but it was good directing in both of those movies that made them memorable, in my opinion.

Up In The Air rules. I was almost an extra in that movie, although that wouldn't matter because they cut out a lot of Omaha :(

Yes, because charities need money to exist. If you're asking if there are charities that do not keep any money whatsoever for themselves, then I'm not if there are any. Food Not Bombs I suppose, but I don't know any celebrity that endorses FNB.

I don't care if any celebrities endorses a charity the important thing is if the charity is reliable.

Smooth voice, mature yet dashing good looks, decent acting in some movies, others clearly for money ("Batman and Robin"?). I love the Ocean's series though (except 12), I think it provides the perfect Clooney role.

I think O Brother, Where Art Thou? would've been a lot better with someone else instead. Actually thinking back on it, he does annoy the fuck out of me. Seemingly, he plays the same smug twat in every film.

What is not productive in any way is self-satisfied celebs like Clooney advocating greater Western interference in the region.

He's a fucking terrible actor, everythng about him is so try hard, he's like a slightly better version of Brad Pitt, both of them having joined together in an unholy alliance to shit over the legacy of Cary Grant and James Dean respectively
