...show them this video.

Countless times we get every single excuse from "it would never work" to "it only looks good on paper", when their own system doesn't even look good on paper.

Quants from Wall St. are now spilling the beans that the entire structure behind the mortgage craze was built upon false assumptions and bad models. They relied too much on linear thinking to non-linear situations concerning human behavior.

Well, it's a canard too, because it's a bullshit argument.

Well in fairness, showing someone that capitalism doesnt work is not an answer to the question 'socialism would never work'. The left seem to get stuck in the trap of constantly trying to prove how shit capitalism is, instead of trying to explain how or why socialism failed in its first attempt or how society would work in the future under a socialist analysis.

The left should be explaining the positives of the USSR, Cuba, east germany and other socialist attempts around the world. But instead they debase these attempts because they werent successfull and try to distance themsleves from them completely. The only other option left open to those on the left who take this position is to constantly attack capitalism, and that tactic has absolutely no bearing on the consciousness of the people in relation to an understanding of socialism.

Shooting themselves in the foot.

I was kind of hoping that sentence would end with "...punch their teeth out."
