US soldiers in Afghanistan kill civilians for sport

According to charging documents, the unprovoked, fatal attack on Jan. 15 was the start of a months-long shooting spree against Afghan civilians that resulted in some of the grisliest allegations against American soldiers since the U.S. invasion in 2001. Members of the platoon have been charged with dismembering and photographing corpses, as well as hoarding a skull and other human bones.

It is truly disgusting what war and rhetoric can do to a persons morals and what influences they can have on the actions of those involved. Overall, I'm not surprised and I'm not surprised that the military has done all in its power to hide things like these... however, to say that this occurrence is unique only to this war would be a horrifying lie... this happens with almost all wars and it is in part due to the racism and superiority complexes that are built within the minds of the soldiers by their leaders as they go to fight... overall, these disgusting acts are why those who push for peace need to push a little harder.

Fucking despicable. This kind of shit just makes it easier for the Taliban to recruit youngsters to their cause. I'd say this event is also the result of years of American propaganda which has produced soldiers who see Afghan or Arab civilians as less than human.
