I'm new to the board and introducing myself.
I found this site through a yahoo search of Che. After reading a few posts, I'm excited to find other people that I could discuss these issues with and have something productive to say. Also, the news resources posted are great!

Although I don't exactly know how to label my political views, I tend to promote socialist democracy and communism. Hopefully, with some time on this board, I could more precisely express my opinions.
Here's what I think on issues...
End the Cuban embargo
Free the Cuban 5 and Mumia
Legalized weed
Screw Israel
Screw the Fed
Black Panthers were not a racist gang
Elections in the US are just part of a show
The only two US politicians I like are Alan Grayson and Ron Paul. I know that Ron Paul and I don't have the same views, so I'm still trying to figure this one out. What I like about him is that he points out many problems with US financial and foreign policy. When I hear Alan Grayson speak, he makes sense to me.
Favorite book: The Little Prince
There's a poster of Che Guevara in my living room with the Cuban flag in the background and "REVOLUCION" written on the bottom.
I go through phases in which I like to learn about topics. The last few in order were: Che Guevara, the Cuban Revolution, the Russian Revolution, the French Revolution, Karl Marx, Islam, History of US monetary policy, West vs. the Middle East, the 1973 Chile Coup, and Max Weber. It seems like I'm getting into Amerindian stuff now. I just read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. Also, I'm reading Mirrors by Eduardo Galeano.

Welcome. You have one of the most interesting and creative user names I've seen. I'm a bit jealous!
You seem like you're off to a good start.
Many socialists have issues with Ron Paul. Its understandable why people looking for answers turn to him in this time of crisis. His libertarianism though is dangerous-its simplistic and leads people in a false direction. His campaign was filled with thinly veiled racism. His son, Rand, is basically off the map.We don't want these ideas to spread.
The user Chegitz Guevara lives in Florida. My organization has a member in Florida who is trying to start a group.

Eduardo Galleano is great. The Open Veins of Latin america is one of my favorite books.

The name is a running joke I have with an old roommate. He was applying for an entry-level position at a supermarket and the application asked for 3 references. He thought it was dumb to provide references since it's entry-level. So, he said, "I'm just gonna put in Dougal McSprayfarts and see what they say." He didn't really do it, but I' haven't forgotten the name since.
Thanks for the info, too.
