Cuban Experts Will Train ALBA Fishermen in the Pacific
Caracas, Sep 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban experts will train workers in navigation and fishing techniques in the Pacific Ocean, as part of a socialist joint venture, Inustrial Fisheries of the ALBA.
A total of 93 Pescalba workers, graduates of educational programs in Venezuela, will be trained aboard the ships Simon Bolivar, Luisa Caceres de Arismendi, Miranda, Bermudez and Mariño.
As part of their training, the fishermen will also learn English, history, mathematics and world geography before returning to land in six months.
Pescalba is one of the joint ventures created as part of the ALBA, the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America, to guarantee food security for the bloc’s member countries.
ALBA is comprised of Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Ecuador, Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Antigua and Barbuda.
