For a long time, I've kept my political beliefs to myself with maybe the exception of a close friend but I find it is really important now to talk about it. I see my country moving farther and farther to the right where Patriotism gets replaced with Nationalism and it's actually quite scary. So I want my voice heard along with the rest of my comrades on the left to strengthen our side by one. And hopefully a lot more.
I live right smack down in the middle of the Bible Belt(Louisiana in fact) so being an open Atheist is quite hard. The only people I don't tell are my employers for obvious reasons and speaking of, no job right now. But by all means I am not a slacker. I want to work hard so I can get money to go back to school to study Cultural Anthropology and World History. Being unproductive is not an option for me and rightfully so.
I hope to contribute as much as I can to these boards. This one was chosen because it was the largest of its kind I came across but I can already tell I am going to like it.
