Well I think that it is an prevent academic field that integrates physical and biological sciences to the study of the environment, and the solution of environmental problems. It also provides an incorporate, measurable, and interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental systems, Environmental studies incorporates more of the social sciences for understanding human relationships, perceptions and policies towards the environment, Environmental engineering concentrate on design and technology for improving environmental quality. Environmental scientists work on subjects like the understanding of earth processes, evaluating alternative energy systems, pollution control and mitigation, etc.
Environmental issues almost always include an interaction of physical, chemical, and biological processes.

Meh, all of the environmental engineers I know have grow pretty disheartened with the field because what you do in reality as an environmental engineer is figure out ways in which corporations can pollute without breaking laws. That is about the extent of it. Now there are exceptions- but they are few and far between. And it is not because of the people in the engineering positions, you would image that most of them are actually interested in preserving the environment, but that the vast majority of jobs and research don't involve working to preserve the environment but involves figuring out how continue polluting without being noticed by laws/people/communities.
