Who has the best avi? There are many good ones. Off the top of my head I would say I like The People's Penguin (is that a Liverpool football club?), the "patient, listening penguin". The name and the sig are really cool.

I'm sure Rakunin can explain further, but I'm pretty sure his man/bird thing is a depiction of a late Medieval/Renaissance doctor. It was surmised that one of the ways disease was spread was through "impure air," so they wore those beak-like things filled with herbs to try to purify the air, and subsequently keep them free from disease. It's actually not totally off from how we know disease spreads today, except the mechanism's a bit different.
