Islamic fundamentalism is just like revolutionary communism.. dare says Blair

Due to the recent events taking place in the US, islamophobia has ravaged the hearts and minds of many Americans today. By what I mean recent events, in the past few months, protests have sprung up against the development of a cultural center two blocks away from Ground Zero. Thanks to mainstream media, this cultural center has been painstakingly confused as being a mosque. [1] And so, with their racism against Muslims failingly being hidden within their so-called patriotism, paranoia has increased not in just New York City, but in many other states as well. [2][3]

Though, given the popularity of anti-Muslim paranoia, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair decided to make such comments, comparing Islamic fundamentalism with what he calls revolutionary communism. [4]

Due to such comments, I decided to take it upon myself to try and point out the clear fallacies and misconceptions within such a statement. Given the long past of communism being attacked by US funded terrorism, one would believe that such a comparison between Islamic fundamentalism and communism is nothing but a betrayal to history. Though, clearly, this is nothing more than the exhaustive use of continuous propaganda against not only the history of the proletarian struggle, but is also within a direct assault against another struggle as well the Muslim struggle against racism and bigotry.

Firstly, whats needing to be mentioned is the clear history behind US backed Islamic fundamentalism. And not only was this backed by the US, it was backed in order to form counterrevolutionary assaults against Soviet-led countries.

Afghanistan comes to mind as one of the main US funded terrorist attacks against any Soviet army.

In April 27, 1978, the Peoples Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA) overthrew Mohammed Daouds Afghani Republic in what became known as the Saur Revolution. [5] Despite what one may believe, throughout the entire history of Afghanistan, no liberated progression has ever been seen like what was witnessed through the ruling of the PDPA. Such progressive measures that took place was the advancement of womens rights a characteristic long to have been seen in Afghanistan for many decades now. [6]

Of course, given its lack of relations with the US, a secret decision was made in 1979 by then President Jimmy Carter and his national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski in order to lead the Soviets into what they called an Afghan trap. This was done through the funding and organizing of Islamic terrorists. [7] The initial goal for these Islamic terrorists was to overthrow the PDPA and form a government of their own. For many in America, this became famously nicknamed as Charlie Wilsons War, where one man named Charlie Wilson was able to get by through tight funding by the US in order to not only arm the Mujahideen, but also train them on how to use such weaponry. [8]

Back then the Mujahideen were seen as Islamic warriors, rather than fundamentalist terrorists in what would later become known as the infamous Taliban. President Jimmy Carters national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski, when asked if he had any regrets in arming and advising the Islamic terrorists, he responded by asking What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? The interviewer continued by stating that Islamic fundamentalism has become a world menace today, in which Brzezinski then responds:

Nonsense! It is said that the West had a global policy in regard to Islam. That is stupid. There isnt a global Islam.. [9]

So instead of recognizing the fact that the US funded, armed, and trained a group of Islamic fundamentalists, he rather states indirectly that the advancement of Islamic fundamentalism and the overthrowing of the PDPA was to be taken as highly successful. When in fact, after looking back at not only what Afghanistan was when compared today and the ongoing problem of Islamic fundamentalism, one can only conclude such actions by the US as disastrous.

Of course, we can also compare such with similar US-led attacks against both socialist and progressive backed governments, such as the socialist Sandinista National Liberation Front being almost overthrown by the US funded Contras [10], along with the democratically elected government of Iran and the coup detat led by the US funded Shah, leading to the removal of then President of Iran Mohammad Mosaddegh. [11]

Naturally, what you see here within these two incidents is not the backing of any Islamic fundamentalist group, but it does show the backing of terrorism nonetheless against both communist and progressive governments who choose to discontinue any economical relations with the US empire.

So when we look back at the statements made by Tony Blair, him comparing Islamic fundamentalism with communism, it becomes pretty clear that such statements was made for the sole purpose to continue the status quo against communism and to wipe out any historical relations between the US/British and Islamic fundamentalists. Only to replace such false history with the claim of cracking down on said fundamentalists.

Though, it appears that this new red scare against the Muslim community is gaining a strengthening mirror image of when the 50′s red scare took place here in the US. Such things like the increase of paranoia, the burning of literature [12], and violent attacks [13][14].

This mistake that both Blair in Britain and the tea-party in America have made through their ongoing attacks against both Muslims and Communists was the failure to realize the inevitable rise of not only the resistance by the Muslim community [15], but of the resistance by the communist community as well. [16]

As communists, we may see religion as the opium of the people, but we also realize that we must always uphold Marxist-Leninism by standing against the oppressors in support of the oppressed. When the US began funding Islamic fundamentalism to try and destroy each and every element of communism, Im positive they never realized that karma was packing heat. We as communists will defend the Muslim community against such racism and bigotry, and until the attacks are immediately disbanded, we will continue to do so.

Blair is nothing but a clown now, therefore it is better to ignore his clueless comments, rather to pay any attention to him.

The people of America think how the federal government wants them to think. How else could a large part of the population support never ending war in the middle east? TV and radio is evil- or at least the people who control it are evil. They've been churning out propaganda for decades. We have this asshole (in part) to thank.
