I heard someone talking about the U.S supporting the monarchies in the middle east. I was hoping i could get more information on this.

Yeah, Saudi Arabia is the big one. (Used to be Iran before the Sh FDR back in the 40s went to the Saudi Royal Family, and basically said, "Hey, we'll protect and keep you guys in power if you hand over your oil to us!" So the Saudi Royal Family agreed, and that's why they're such fat cats and America is basically in their pocket. There's more too, but Saudi Arabia's the biggest. There was also Iran, back when the Sha was in power, but he got kicked back in the late 70s. Once again, that was for oil as well.

US has ties with the Saudi crown (much of their military tech is American). Qatar for one is a major center for American movements in the Gulf. UAE is on relatively friendly terms as well.

Jordan is a fairly close ally too.
