I'm very relieved to have found a forum where the ppl know what their talking about! at other forums, of a supposedly learned strain, i got tired of explaining what communism really is, along with socialism and anarchism.
quickly, I'm 35 and recently got out of prison for like the umpteenth time for my ventures as a illegitimate capitalist. this last stint was 3yrs and instead of wasting it talking the same trash and watching the zombie tube i read. then i started asking why i kept finding myself in the same predicament (beyond my own personal issues and responsibility). then i found Zinn...from then its been on like donkey kong. started slow at first but the more i read the more i began to question and search for real answers. I've read alot, from the social sciences (my favorite is social psychology), economics, philosophy w/ an emphasis on ethics and political philosophy, Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Bakunin, Kropotkin and everything in between.
ideologically I'm revolutionary progressive. i believe in communism in its original form and definition but the means to get there (aside from revolution and direct action) I'm still on the fence with. i lean more towards anarchism these days. the controlled transition into communism that the socialist subscribe to doesn't sit to well with me but i love all me komrades just the same. i believe in unity of all communists and reject any thoughts of further dividing our strength along nonessential lines.
my area is central pa and very christian right. and VERY small. i have the foundation of knowledge and now I'm looking to get my feet wet. had some very good old skool teachers in prison. now I'm looking to start helping.
so, I'm glad to finally have found an active community of komrades and look forward to contributing and learning.
