the last donut of the night

I'm really interested in the theory of the rapid degeneration of capitalism in the last century, and I think we can see how its contradictions have become ever more antagonistic and have created even more and spurred even more reactionary movements as a sort of short-term salvation (ie. fascism). The degeneration of capitalism directly affects the material world, but does it also affect the culture around us? Do you think that, especially in America, popular culture is becoming a repetitive sludge of the same tired plots, the same glorification of imperialism, or that nothing new is coming out because of this degeneration?
