In the spanish civil war, The basque Republicans were known for their bravery, they refused to take cover, and refused to use fox holes, their daring and courage often Thwarted Francos Nationalist Insurgents.

After the war, Franco outlawed Basque language, He tried to crush the rebelios Basque population.

But the people rejected all spanish impositioned, just as the thousands of Basques who were executed when the republic fell did.

Thw ehole population, supported Autonomy, and a complete end to spanish rule.

But yet again, a Vanguard, by the name of ETA, destroyed this working class revolution, through elitist, vanguardist bombing and shooting.

They totally ignored the fact the whole community was there, and just took donations for the basque cause, and churned out isolated attacks, which left many workers feeling alienated and impotent.

The huge rallies and anti Franco, pro Basque independence, socialist ideals being supported by the majority of the Baque people was being squandered, by a vanguard.

Because, people bang on about the ETA, LTTE, Shining Path.

But ETA, were worse than other vanguards, because they squandered the revolutionary potential of the entire Basque country, and chose to use isolated bomb attacks, rather than create a mass movement, where the workers were thwe ones fighting.

The only reason these pricks are on ceasefire, is because, they have hardly any support in Basque country, they cannot even get funds anymore.

The largest Basque party (the PNV) was Christian-Democratic. Quite a few Spanish communists that I have talked to are still bitter about the so-called Santoña Betrayal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santo%C3%B1a_Agreement) when the 'brave Basques' surrendered en masse to the Nationalists

Not that this should detract from your incoherent ranting about 'VANGUARDS'* of course. Just a historical note

To insist on calling a secret conspirational terrorist group a "vanguard" is a rape of the term and of the actual vanguard: the workers-leaders in the proletariat.

Also, how is giving up the bankrupt method of terrorism a betrayal exactly? I thought we already established this lesson back in the 1880's. Although I guess this kind of backward consciousness is a reflection on the backward state our class is in. In such situations it seems easier to resort to tnt than try and organise workers.
