Anyway, why no gas because of Labor Day? The gas co. won't make deliveries? You can probably buy a propane tank easily somewhere. I've been in that situation with prescription drugs though. Everything shuts down. President's Day sucks for that.

Small butane stoves can heat a small area in Winter too. Is a necessity for all broke folk. Nice that the company can take a holiday while you and your dinner are cold though.
I remember when you didn't have to keep the utilities on just to maintain rental/ leasing agreements. In fact I remember doing alright on my grandparent's farm without gas, electricity, or running water. Now the more broke you are, especially if you've got kids that you don't want taken away, the more you have to pay just to survive.
Speaking of keeping the gas on, even the cost of a basic cremation is getting crazy (you don't have to pay mind you, but someone does). In this society you don't just have to pay to survive you've gotta pay to die.

Ya'll honkeys is stoopid. The gas company turned off my gas cause my landlord realized after a month and a half that I was getting free gas when I was supposed to be paying for it, so now that I've actually signed up to pay for it, they can't install it til Wednesday... pricks.
