It's better than middle school. For the most part I enjoyed it, but Algebra I and P.E. are going to be boring I can tell. :( My other classes(English Honors, Model United Nations, Latin, and Earth Science) are pretty legit. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of cool people from middle school in my classes.
We're going to read Animal Farm in English, so I'm prepared to bring up Orwell being a socialist and blow people's minds.
One of the Model United Nations' classrooms has a bust of Lenin in it.

More than mine? It's currently the worst funded school in the state of Victoria. The buildings are falling apart, the ground's cracking open and there's grass growing in the gutters. Repair simply isn't economical so they plan to completely demolish it and start over.

my high school was pretty fucking ghetto. we had metal detectors, three police on campus, and if you were caught without your student ID...you could've ended up arrested. What I always hated was if you forgot your ID they used that as an excuse to frisk you and search you for weed or other contraband, which annoyed the shit out of me.

If I did, I'd do things differently.
Only thing I would do different is instead of wasting time on homework I would get high. Thanks to the PACT program my college tuition is payed for and I wasted effort on busy work.

My first day of college (dunno what the equivalent is (I'm currently 16 and will be 17 later this academic year), I'm from the UK) starts on my monday. I generally can't be bothered with this kind of thing as I am not really a people-person or whatever. The subjects I am taking are English (lit & lang together), biology, maths, philosophy, history and French.

Model United Nations is a UN simulation class. You represent a certain country, work on certain commitees, and go to conferences every once in awhile, which could be anywhere. My school has been to China for a conference, hell.
I'm representing Cuba on a Israel/Palestine commitee. :thumbup1:

It seems good to you because it is well known that middle school is the shittiest time of your life. You just didn't know that because you were in middle school.
High school is okay. It depends if you have cool friends. My semester right now is gonna suck due to my classes.

You're in high school?
Also, once you get out. You'll feel the same about high school.
As I once commented to a friend: "When I was in Elemtery school, I thought it was great. Then I got to middle school and now thought elementary school sucked. By the time I got to high school, I hated middle school and was fucking pumped for High school. By the time I graduated, I had come to the conlusion that it all sucked. "

You're in high school?
Yeah, I'm a junior. I'm 16, 17 in November.
Also, once you get out. You'll feel the same about high school.Yeah, probably. But it's okay for now since I have a good friend group and get along well enough.
The real problem is these fratboy bros that plague my town, playing frisbee outside their buildings with their shirts off while blasting shit music like John Melloncamp.

I actually really love college. It gives me an amount of academic freedom that mandatory school does not. I (for the most part) study what I want and go when I want.

I really, really, really, really hated my 5 years of elementary (k-4th grade). I choke-slammed a kid 'cause I had all this pent-up rage waiting to burst and got "disciplinary action". I also got suspended once....
Fuck.
Middle school wasn't much better, 'cause I was miserable all the time. Suspended here too.
Shit.
High school seems to be a bit better, but not many of my friends from middle school are in any of my classes. Not suspended yet.
The only disciplinary action that I haven't been subjected to is expulsion, and I was damn close in middle school, fucking academic suspension 'cause I didn't want to do any work for my damn teachers...
And I'm a pretty bright kid, just lazy as hell.

I went to a uniformed catholic middle school for a while and got my ass kicked out. A few months later I got shipped off to Idaho to be put through a behavior modification program.

You should see if there is a school paper which you could join, school papers are a great way to get Leftist perspectives out there in addition to helping you understand the ideas better yourself as well.

I loved highschool (ore Gymnasium as its called here), evryboody did know eachother, partys all the time, most classes where simple, we got the opportunity to travel, to read extra courses as rescue and emergency service, where we visited ambulance and fire brigades once in a week, and got educated in theire work. All days you hanged out with your friends, playing card, messing around, then evrything stopped and you had to start working. I miss the good old days.

I got shipped off to Idaho because I was too defiant.

did you get the Abitur?
Yesh. More trivia: I would've gotten 15 pts (of 15) in my "social studies" abitur presentation if I actually had a presentation and knew that one stupid question about some retarded blabber some politicians let out weeks before. So now I just got 13. Which still is pretty awesome. But yes, it's a loophole I abused pretty good. The course was a joint sociology/politics/economy course, and only politics students where qualified to teach it. So all the teachers had absolutely no idea of economics. All I had to do was dish out tons of jargon and have watch them give me good grades because it'd be too embarrassing for them to admit they have no fucking idea what I'm talking about.

I hated high school, I was one out of three day students at a preppy as shit boarding school. Had to put up with upper class kids day after day for three years. But at least I had nice school food, and lots of hot rich chicks :D

Well, i just started my first day back to high school today, grade 11. It was pretty chill except for the fact over the weekend I smashed a kid in the mouth in a drunken rage because he stole my vodka.
10 stitches later he tells all his friends/big brother I threatened to stab him. So for the next little while I feel the need to lay low, not drink, and stay with friends.
I love high school.:)

Hated elementary scool....despised middle school.....dropped out of high school and opted for night school instead. To say I damn the system to that non-exsitant hell with every fiber of my being wouldn't accurately describe my feelings towards that bourgeoise shit hole.
To any that loved it though......congratulations on successfully conforming to their fascist construct.
I have stronger words then most people I guess.
