An Israeli army officer who fired the entire magazine of his automatic rifle into a 13-year-old Palestinian girl and then said he would have done the same even if she had been three years old was acquitted on all charges by a military court yesterday.

I've been to Israel three times since December of 2007...Although I didn't get to go into Palestinian territory, I can say that many, if not most, Israelis hardly view the Palestinians as even remotely human. The callous antipathy with which the Zionist state and its (mostly) indoctrinated populace regard their Palestinian cousins caused me more than a lifetime's worth of disgust. For a Jew to even raise a single question about human rights for Palestinians in most parts of Israeli society is to draw to oneself calls of "self-hating Jew" and "antisemite."

Between the Islamism of Hamas in Palestine, and the racist militarists of the Zionist regime, I felt very little hope for the improvement of the situation in that troubled place.

My hopes lie with the PFLP, however diminished they may be right now..
