Hello, All.

After my first two semesters at Akron, I've gotten the feeling that there's a real vacuum for a multi-tendency leftist student organization. I'm interested in helping to start such a group, perhaps it could be called "College Socialists". There's a webpage, information, and some sort of application process to starting a student organization, but I'd like to hear from members of Revleft who are willing to share similar experiences and advice with me about such a thing. Thanks :)

Join your local Students for a Democratic Society chapter, if your college doesn't have one start your own. ;)

Thanks! I've actually never heard of them before, or if I did, I forgot about it.

I called the campus liaison and left a message inquiring about Students for a Democratic Society, because the webpage Akron provides doesn't list them as student organization at Akron. I also submitted my information in "Start a Chapter" on the website you provided me with. Hopefully something comes out of it. My only fear is that if I help to organize a group like this, I won't have very much time for face-to-face meetings because of work. But I'll give it my best shot.
