In my Live inbox today I got an ad for a site called DonnieDavies.com. Turns out, its a site for a right-wing catholic musician. It is full of propaganda, mainly against homosexuality with the headline being "God Hates Fags". This site was so ridiculous, I thought at first it was a joke. This man is basically trying to brainwash people to raise there children with hardcore catholic views. What really pissed me off is when I read the "Homosexual Supporting Bands to Watch Out For" list on a similar site called lovegodsways where they depicted a large list of musicans/bands like Coldplay, Radiohead, Ween, The Strokes, Nirvana, King Crimson, Slipknot, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cure, and so on.
This is such typical right wing christianity and I can't believe people still think this crap in this day and age. First off, this so called "god" would not hate anything if he existed, because he is supposed to be the exact opposite of hate. So right off the bat this is pure propaganda. After doing some research, I found even more sites, saying even more radical things. These people are out of thier minds, they need to be stopped.

The American church as a whole is very conservative, much more so than the heads in Rome. (they're not exactly leftist either mind you.) The church here is dominated by older priest and in many ways, the older lay people. For example, my father was the only Knight (in the Knights of Columbus) that was under the age of 60 at our old church. There is a small amount of younger hardcore/ old school catholic kids who share the views of the older people, but most trend more liberal. In a few decades or so you'll see an American church that is far more open about these types of things than now. Also, you must consider the impact that the protestant religious right (evangelicals and such, who have a lot of influence on the topic of popular christian ideas in America) have had on the American church.
