Castro and his highly analytical mind can still penetrate through the fog of propaganda.

Castro said documents posted on WikiLeaks.org — a website that recently released thousands of pages of classified documents from the Afghan war — "effectively proved he was a CIA agent." He did not elaborate.

I guess he should have.

To be fair like, it's very obvious. How could they not have caught the most recognisable man on the planet!

To be fair Osama was funded by the USA to kill Soviets in the 80's. Though I doubt they still pay him now.

Castro has been senile for some time in my opinion.

What kind of communist leader wears a Nike sweat suit? I'm sure it's comfy, but it was made by the hands of exploited asian workers, likely in a sweatshop.

Wake the fuck up Fidel, Che would be disgusted.

He's dead anyway:

BBC edited this out, and a couple of months later, Bhutto was killed by an unknown gunman. Coincidence?

Lets be honest though; there is ample evidence to suggest Osama Bin Laden was on the US payroll during the 1970's in the war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, plus, evidence is so negligible in tying Osama to the World Trade Center attacks, they don't even list that as wanted criteria on the FBI website:

CAUTION

Usama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world.

that's all it says about him. Again, notice it makes no mention of 9/11 whatsoever, yet we keep hearing about that connection here in the west.

He himself admitted that he was behind it.

Then shouldn't that be enough evidence to condemn him as the perpetrator behind 9/11? Because it still says the only thing he's wanted for is the Kenyan embassy bombing.

What do you wear?

I'm not the leader/former leader of a communist revolution. I'm an 18 year old living in capitalist Canada. I have a little less reason to care whther I wear nike, bench, fox, Adidas or clothing made right here under fair working conditions, as the latter is not so easy to attain, for me.

For me, brand name clothing is always what i've worn. For Castro, he fought against capitalism and consumerism, to now wear the swoosh. It's a little hypocritical.

I don't know if driving around exclusively in Jeeps was much better...

If you need a vehicle, you need a vehicle.

It's a little easier to wear a sweatsuit made under fair working conditions instead of sweatshop clothing, than it is for a revolutionary force to attain a military vehicle in a small island country.

As a leader he has a certain responsibility. I'm not saying he should wear rags, or combat fatigues all the time. But wearing Nike is obvious that he doesn't even try.

You've finally cracked the case, TS: The U.S. concocted an entire story about how Bin Laden was behind the attacks on 9/11, but was too darn honest to list it as one of his crimes on the FBI's website. Brilliant insight, I don't know why it hasn't been brought up before.

Yeah, his speech might be fucked up, but goddamn why are we so eager to join the bandwagon of right-wing pundits claiming that "Fidel Castro is a crazy communist lollololololol everything he says is soooooo crazY!!!!!!!1111"? Yes, I doubt Laden is an US agent, but what Castro says is much more grounded in reality than any neo-con or liberal/social-democrat has legitimately said about the US's role in creating or at least letting Saudi money flow into these types of organizations or even the US's wish (remember, these organizations -- especially the Taliban -- were created as "freedom fighters" against the USSR or other middle eastern regimes) firing back.

Let's be a more serious -- how about we focus more on calling the other guys' bullshit than our (much more serious, at least) horseshit, even if we do have a ton of it in our ranks.

I'm not sure I agree with Comrade Fidel on this one, but it's common knowledge that Osama Bin Laden was trained, funded, and lauded by the CIA in their efforts against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

Judging from just how insidious militarists and imperialists can be, is it really that far fetched to believe Osama is being used to some ends? I'm not going to say that he is, because I don't believe there is sufficient enough evidence to conclude that...Yet.

Kurt debated this with me in another thread.

I really want to get to the bottom of this. Was Osama funded by the CIA, either directly or indirectly or not?

It's not much of a stretch to blame a big portion of drug trafficking on the CIA with Air America and the funding of the Contras, creating kingpins all over Central and South America.

Nearly all of the terrorist and religious extremist movements that have terrorized civilians had some sort of connection to training in Afghanistan during the war.
